Page 4 of 7 Mr. Thrifty Principle #3: Shop around and look at many VOIP providers
If you are a regular Mr. Thrifty reader it seems like every article he writes has a principle in it that says “shop around and get quotes from multiple companies.” If you are not a regular reader of Mr. Thrifty, what’s your problem? :-) Back to the point at hand, shopping around and getting information from multiple VOIP providers is the single most important thing you can do when selecting a VOIP provider. There are literally hundreds of VOIP providers out there. All of them have different prices, features and VOIP technologies. Mr. Thrifty is NOT recommending that you try to contact all of the VOIP providers out there but rather get a quick sampling of them.
If you are hoping to do all of your shopping over the web, Mr. Thrifty has some bad news- there is not yet a great single VOIP repository of information. For regular phone service, Mr. Thrifty recommends sites like www.SmartPrice.com, but for VOIP there is not a good equivalent. One thing you can do is check out some of the VOIP providers listed on the right of this page (if Mr. Thrifty’s Google ads are working properly). Not only you can look at some great VOIP providers, but you will also be supporting Mr. Thrifty by clicking on the ad. |
