Mr. Thrifty Principle #7: Look for other sources of rent cash back

If you don’t want to hassle with a locator, Mr. Thrifty recommends getting a rebate from Rent.com. They’ll pay you $100 for any apartment you lease through them. The don’t have listings for every apartment, but they have quite a few.

Check the apartment’s website for coupons. Like airlines, apartment communities are trying to encourage renters to come to them directly, instead of going through intermediaries like apartment locators and Rent.com. Equity Residential offers coupons on their website.
