Mr. Thrifty Tip #5: Use an Entertainment book

If you have never used them before or don’t know what they are, check out www.entertainment.com.  Basically it is book full of 2-for-1 coupons that you can buy for $20 for your city.  Mr. Thrifty has been a HUGE fan of these for years.

Usually you will find about 100 different restaurants in your book offering these deals.  What makes it fun is that it encourages you to try different restaurants that are not in the normal 5-10 that most people rotate through.  The Thrifty’s call these “adventure dinners” because in most cases these are restaurants that the Thrifty’s have never been to before.

The one caveat to the Entertainment coupons is to make sure you read the fine print.  Some restaurants black out Friday’s, Saturday’s and weekends.  Just check before you go.

Note: Mr. Thrifty does not recommend that you use a coupon on a first date.  That makes you look like Mr. Cheap and will probably not result in a second date.

Saving Money at Restaurants

I love eating out but it can be expensive. My local radio station ran a promotion today that if you went to their site you could get a 50% off coupon to a couple of different restaurants. Might be another way to save money at restaurants.

You can also go online and print out some great coupons from restaurant.com. They have a lot of $25 off coupons you can get for $5 and they work. Just make sure to read the fine print. They also have black out dates and minimum spending limits. They also have very frequent sales where you can get the coupons for half off.
